On Monday, Onley police officer, Mark Joseph Whitney was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he was involved in an accident on Route 13, along Virginia’s eastern shore.
According to Virginia State Police, Officer Whitney, of Chincoteague, pulled out onto Route 13 from Route 695 and slammed into a Toyota Tundra.
The driver of the Tundra was treated for minor injuries.
Officer Whitney was off duty at the time of the crash.
