Concorde Crash Leads To Guilty Verdict 10 Years after the crash
Air France Flight 4590 was a Concorde flight from Charles de Gaulle International Airport near Paris, France, to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, New York, and operated by Air France. On 25 July 2000 it crashed in Gonesse, France. All one hundred passengers and nine crew on board the flight perished. On the ground, four people were killed with one left wounded.
Continental Airlines Inc. and one of its mechanics were convicted in a French court of manslaughter Monday because debris from one of its planes caused the crash of an Air France Concorde jet that killed 113 people a decade ago.
The Houston-based airline was ordered to pay Air France euro1.08 million ($1.43 million) for damaging its reputation, in addition to a fine of around euro200,000 ($265,000). The victims of the crash were mostly German tourists.
The presiding judge confirmed investigators' long-held belief that titanium debris dropped by a Continental DC-10 onto the runway at Charles de Gaulle airport before the supersonic jet took off on July 25, 2000, was to blame. Investigators said the debris gashed the Concorde's tire, propelling bits of rubber into the fuel tanks and sparking a fire.
The plane then slammed into a nearby hotel, killing all 109 people aboard and four others on the ground.
Ronald Schmid, a lawyer who has represented several families of the German victims, said he was "skeptical" about the ruling.
"It bothers me that none of those responsible for Air France were sitting in the docks," he told The Associated Press by phone from Frankfurt.
The airline and mechanic, John Taylor, were also ordered to jointly pay more than euro274,000 ($360,000) in damages to different civil parties.
Taylor was also handed a 15-month suspended prison sentence, and a euro2,000 ($2,650) fine. All other defendants – including three former French officials and Taylor's now-retired supervisor Stanley Ford – were acquitted.
The court said Taylor should not have used titanium, a harder metal than usual, to build a piece for the DC-10 that is known as a wear strip. He was also accused of improperly installing the piece that fell onto the runway.
Stunt jumper student Samual Koch seriously injured after leaping over moving cars on spring
This was the shocking moment when a stunt went horribly wrong in front of millions of TV viewers.
Student Samuel Koch was trying to jump over a series of moving cars while wearing 'kangaroo' spring stilts when he got caught by the fourth vehicle - driven by his father - and fell.
As he lay motionless on the floor, distraught Wetten, dass? host Thomas Gottschalk called for a doctor and the cameras panned away from the stage.
The 23-year-old was conscious and treated for a number of minutes before being strapped to a spinal board and taken to hospital.
Last night he was operated on at the University Hospital in Dusseldorf, but there was no news on his condition.
Wetten, dass? (Bet it?) features stunts by members of the public and is one of the most watched shows in Europe.
Koch had claimed he could leap five cars within four minutes in his spring-propelled stilts.
After the accident, TV chiefs showed repeats of musical acts which had previously appeared on the show for 25 minutes before finally cancelling the programme.
Take That and American teenage star Justin Bieber had been due to perform.
Gottschalk announced:'We will here and now break off the programme. Anything else would be wrong. We feel responsible to not make jolly when we are not.'
When he had introduced the stunt, Gottschalk told the audience that he had been very worried watching rehearsals of Koch jumping over cars being driven towards him.
He had told magazine Der Spiegel: 'I have never been so scared that something would happen to this young man. I can only say, I hope all goes well.'
The magazine speculated that the stunts were becoming increasingly dangerous at least in part due to competition from the rival Das Supertalent show which goes out on a rival station at the same time.
Koch was jumping over successively bigger cars, and broke off the second jump, looking irritated and stressed, according to Der Spiegel.
He cleared the third but the fourth, which was being driven by his father, was too much and he caught himself on it somehow and crashed to the floor.
It is the first time in 29 years that the show has been cancelled.
Gottschalk said later:'It is the first time in my long, long career that such a thing has happened and we have carried out many dangerous stunts.
'I have always said that would be the worst thing for me, if something happened to one of my candidates in a live show. I regret enormously that this has now happened.'

Bowl Games 2010
It was a crazy up and down year for the Pac-10 this season as Oregon and Stanford dominated, Arizona hung around, and most everybody else circled the drain. The conference was able to get only four bowl eligible teams this year and with the announcement of the 2010 bowl game schedule, the Pac-10 will only send four teams across the country. The four schools are Oregon, Stanford, Arizona and Washington. Arizona State finished with six wins but needed seven due to the fact that they played two teams in 1-AA (Football Championship Series).

Odds are only just beginning to come out for the games, but so far Oregon is a three point underdog to Auburn and Stanford is a three point underdog to Virginia Tech. We'll make sure and have the spreads for all the Pac-10 Bowl games as the conference looks to build on their top heavy 2010 performance.

Insiders have revealed that this campaign seems to have a lot of influence from across the world and their sole aim of 'Facebook cartoon profile pic' was to urge every user of Facebook to remove their profile pic and replace it with a cartoon. Brittney Jones Sex tape image, video, news update
Brittney Jones Sex tape:-In the most shocking news since Alexis Neiers' arrest for heroin possession, Vivid Entertainment has confirmed it will soon release a sex tape starring Brittney Jones, the woman who claims she slept with Ashton Kutcher.
As THG first reported in late September, an ex-boyfriend claims to be behind this footage (and, presumably, Jones). In a press release Vivid Chairman Steven Hirsch said today:
"We’ve acquired the tape and confirmed its authenticity. Brittney is obviously a beautiful young girl who could clearly seduce any man."
Jones, in fact, says she did just that, allegedly banging Kutcher in the very same living room he shares with wife Demi Moore.
The 21-year old has since blabbed to any tabloid that will pay her listen, expounding on her tale and saying the actress was only angry about the affair because she wasn't included in it.
As for what viewers will see on Brittney Jones Confidential, which hits the market on December 14? We've posted a quartet of images from this sex tape. Warning: they are just SO darn hot!!!
